Q. Is the background image you chose from a computer game going to open up a whole new trove of images for you?
A. I don't know about computer games but I have used a motherboard, a fractal, and desktop icons. In all three cases, I was attracted by the geometric designs and bright colors. Here, in the Bejeweled Blitz screen shot, I viewed all the basic shapes scintillating before me. Using the same idea as I had in Racehorse, I offset the geometric shapes with organic shapes. The shadow and light patterns on the boy's blue satin jacket provided a contrast and repeated the scintillating effect that was needed to make the pairing work.
Original for sale. Print options available.
