Q. The depiction of Michelangelo's God in the Art Wheels series does seem quite incongruous. What crossed your mind as you put the images together?
A. At first, I thought the juxtaposition was irreverent: the Sistine Ceiling with its sacred imagery interacting with a Ford automobile. But, the pairings fit so well together that I pursued it. Then the painting sold soon after it was completed so I didn't have much time to reflect on the outcome.
