The history of art is in his DNA.

Using a flat poster-like technique, Salvatore Gulino borrows images principally from Old Masters, combining them with images from another artist or popular culture such as an antique automobile, a storefront, roller coaster or sign which can yield incongruous and, sometimes, disconcerting juxtapositions.

Lincoln (after Lautrec)
Lincoln (after Lautrec) by Salvatore Gulino.    Acrylic on canvas.   24" x 31"

The painting above, from the Artist's Collection gallery, pairs the image of a vintage Lincoln automobile
with a detail from Toulouse-Lautrec's iconic lithograph, Le Divan Japonais.
